Gardening
"Healthy Soil, Healthy Plants, Healthy You!" will teach you the growing methods used in the SCC Culinary Gardens. Certified Naturally Grown is an organization serving farmers in their quest to grow food with healthy soil and natural methods. This class will bring the same knowledge and techniques to the home vegetable garden. Held Saturday, March 23, from 10 am-Noon, this class will cost $75. An additional course will be offered on Monday, March 25, from 1-3 pm.
Dance
“Absolute Beginner Line Dance – Level 2" is for students ready to build on the skills learned in Level 1. Our instructor will guide you to an improved foundation of dance step terminology, rhythm counts, posture, and dance floor etiquette. You’ll experience a variety of absolute beginner line dances, to different genres of music. Leave your inhibitions at the door and join us on the dance floor. The prerequisite for this course is Level 1 Line Dance, or able to dance Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, and Copperhead Road. Held Mondays, March 18-April 29, from 5-6:30 pm, this class will cost $65. There will be no class on April 1.
"Beginner + Line Dance – Level 3" will build upon the skills learned at the Absolute Beginner level. You’ll learn dances suitable for the experienced dancer, with some emphasis on body posture and styling principles. The dances will provide a natural progression of complexity: steps, turns, syncopations, tags, and restarts. This 6-week session will prove to be a good ole time on the dance floor. The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of the Level 2 class. Held Mondays, March 18-April 29, from 6:30-8 pm, this class will cost $65. There will be no class on April 1.
"Improver/Intermediate Line Dance – Level 4" will feature dance routines suitable for the experienced line dancer, who has mastered a comprehensive range of step patterns and movements. This 6-week session is intended to satisfy the seasoned dancer with new challenges that will prove fun and rewarding. Held Mondays, March 21-April 25, from 6-8 pm, this class will cost $75.

"Tax-Efficient Retirement Income Strategies: Maximizing Your Retirement Savings" will empower your retirement with tax-savvy knowledge and strategic income timing. Session 1: Foundations of Tax-Efficient Retirement Income: Learn tax-advantaged accounts, RMDs, and Social Security's tax impact. Explore income timing and knowing when to tap into specific savings buckets. Session 2: Investment and Portfolio Management: Master asset allocation, tax-efficient investments, and risk management. Discover how to align your investments with tax-savvy strategies. Session 3: Advanced Tax Planning and Withdrawal Strategies: Delve into advanced tax planning, tax-loss harvesting, and savvy withdrawal tactics. Ensure you know when and how to tap into different income sources. Held Tuesdays, March 12-26, from 3-5 pm, this class will cost $35.

In "Southern Culture," you will embark on a captivating journey into the heart and soul of the American South with this new course. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Southern life as we delve into the unique dialects, delectable cuisines, and distinctive cultural traditions that define this vibrant region. Whether you're a seasoned Southerner or a curious traveler, this class will leave you with a deeper understanding of the South's fascinating traditions and a taste of its mouthwatering cuisine. Join us and savor the charm of Southern culture! Held Thursdays, March 14-April 4, from 2-3 pm, this class will cost $45.
Language
"Spanish Beginning Conversation" is a beginner’s class that will provide the foundation for asking and responding to simple questions using basic vocabulary. Engage in easy conversations and communicate in social, business, and travel situations. Students will study a variety of basic written materials and master writing simple sentences needed in everyday life. Absorb Spanish culture with learning the language. Held Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 19-April 18, from 2-4 pm, this class will cost $75 plus the cost of the text. There will be no class on April 2.

Spring 8-Week Session
Continuing Education classes begin throughout the semester. New and returning students do not need to apply to the College; simply register for classes. The spring 8-week session of curriculum classes begins March 11. For all information, go to www.sandhills.edu/learn.
New students taking curriculum/college credit classes must apply before registering. ²ÝùÊÓƵԴ´ has an open-door policy, which means all applicants are accepted. On www.sandhills.edu, new students can find the application at the top right. Returning or current students can register by using Self-Service located on MySCC.
Boys & Girls Club
A Boys & Girls Club unit is offered on the ²ÝùÊÓƵԴ´ campus. It runs from 2:30 to 6:30 pm for kindergarten through fifth grade. The club is ideal for parents/guardians taking SCC afternoon or evening classes, those who need study time, need to utilize the computer lab, or work on projects. Club participants will receive homework assistance, and dinner is offered. The cost is $40 per child per year. The club provides transportation from McDeeds Creek, Farm Life, and Carthage Elementary schools.
In addition, drop-in services are available free of charge to ²ÝùÊÓƵԴ´ students from 6-9 pm. This is ideal for students taking afternoon or evening classes, working on group projects, or for other academic reasons.
