Learn how to start, grow, and manage your small business in August. ²ÝùÊÓƵԭ´´ Community College Small Business Center is committed to helping small businesses grow by providing high-quality, readily accessible assistance and support to increase the success rate and number of viable small businesses throughout North Carolina. Experts in the field will guide students through starting, financing, planning, and marketing their small businesses. Unless otherwise noted, classes are free and will be held on the Pinehurst campus in Van Dusen Hall, room 102.

 

"How to Increase Your Credit Score to Over 740 Points: Prepare for a Bank Loan!" will include information about the importance of maintaining good credit and the positive financial consequences it produces. Using proven methods, you could increase your credit score could increase by 50-100 points or more within 60 days. Make plans to attend now! This course will be held on Thursday, August 15, from 1–3 pm at the Hoke Center.

 

"Start Your Business" will teach you how to create actionable, relevant, and sustainable business practices. Discover resources to craft a business strategy that targets specific, measurable, and timely goals to attract investors, lenders, and customers and supports a profitable small business model. This course will be held on Thursday, August 22, from 6-8 pm on the Pinehurst Campus.

"Intro to Marketing" will provide an overview of small business marketing principles and applications. Develop a focused and effective marketing plan to help comprehend strategic marketing and consumer behavior. Identify how consumers think, act, and engage. This course will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 6-8 pm on the Pinehurst Campus.

 

"Grant Writing 101" will teach you to write a grant, which is an essential skill for many nonprofits and entrepreneurs. Join Sandra Dales in this two-part series as she shares powerful grant writing knowledge and "tried and true" tactics to submit a successful grant application. This course will be held on Tuesday, August 20, from 6–8 pm on the Pinehurst Campus. The second part, "Grant Writing 102," will be held on Tuesday, August 27, from 6–8 pm on the Pinehurst Campus.
